A new Deadline report on Skydance's upcoming slate says the Mary Bronstein film 'Nasty' is now in pre-production.
Mary Bronstein's film 'Nasty,' starring Jenna Ortega and Rose Byrne, is now said to be in pre-production, according to a new Deadline report on major upcoming Skydance releases.
The project is set up at Clockwork, the specialty film division of Warner Bros. — now Skydance — that was launched in December 2025. Margot Robbie's production company, LuckyChap, is producing.
Ortega's casting in the Mary Bronstein movie was announced earlier this year. The screenplay, written by Isabella Jarosz, appeared on the 2024 Black List.

For Bronstein, 'Nasty' follows 'If I Had Legs I'd Kick You' (2025), which earned Byrne her first Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. Byrne subsequently appeared in 'Tow' (2025) and 'Fallen Angels' (2026).
Ortega recently appeared in 'Hurry Up Tomorrow' (2025), 'Death of a Unicorn' (2025) and Tim Burton's 'Beetlejuice Beetlejuice' (2024). Filming on 'Wednesday' season 3, in which she plays Wednesday Addams, was completed in late September, with the series expected to return at some point in 2027.
