PlayStation 7.85 million dollar settlement claims open

Eligible US PlayStation customers can file claims for the $7.85 million antitrust settlement before the October 15 final approval hearing.

The website for Sony's $7.85 million PlayStation antitrust settlement is now live, allowing eligible US customers to submit claims, according to CNET. The claims process will remain open until a final approval hearing on October 15.

Customers who purchased digital games on the PlayStation Store between April 1, 2019, and December 31, 2023, are eligible to file a claim. Compensation will be distributed as PlayStation Network wallet credit after the final approval hearing. Up to 25% of the settlement fund will cover attorneys' fees, taxes, and administrative costs.

Customers with deactivated PlayStation Network accounts can receive cash payments by emailing their purchase information to info@PSNDigitalGamesSettlement.com.

Background

The class-action lawsuit Caccuri v. Sony Interactive Entertainment alleged that Sony illegally prevented PlayStation owners from buying digital games from other stores by discontinuing game-specific vouchers, forcing purchases through the PlayStation Store at inflated prices. The lawsuit was initially settled in 2024, but the settlement was rejected twice—most recently in July 2025—when the judge said the plan did not provide an estimated recovery for class members. The approval process was reinitiated in April. Sony has denied any wrongdoing, and the court has not decided whether the company violated any laws. The deadline to opt out of the settlement was July 2.
