PIZZALA operator apologizes for unapproved AI TikTok ad
FOUR SEASONS said an AI-generated TikTok ad for its Dr.STONE collaboration ran without approval from the anime's production committee.
FOUR SEASONS, the company operating the delivery pizza chain PIZZALA, apologized on November 6, 2026, after a video that had not been approved by the TV anime Dr.STONE production committee was delivered as an advertisement, according to animeanime.jp.
The company said the video ran on its official TikTok account because a staff member made a settings mistake when PIZZALA began running TikTok ads. FOUR SEASONS was not sufficiently aware that the AI-based automatic ad generation and delivery function offered by TikTok's ad platform was set to enabled, it said.
As a result, a video that had not received prior supervision and approval from the production committee was delivered as an advertisement. The apology was posted on the company's official website and official X account.
FOUR SEASONS said it has already stopped delivering the advertisement and has currently halted all TikTok ad delivery. It reported the matter and apologized to the TV anime Dr.STONE production committee.
The company added that it will review its settings confirmation and ad content management system to prevent a recurrence.
Collaboration ran through early November
The PIZZALA x TV anime Dr.STONE collaboration ran from October 1 to November 1 and sold two limited sets with original goods featuring new artwork.
