Activision Explains Missing Apex Attachments in Modern Warfare 4
Activision says beta items absent from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 at launch will return as seasonal content; the game ships with 28 Apex Attachments.
Activision released an official statement on October 28, 2026 explaining why some Apex Attachments that appeared in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 beta are absent from the release version. According to the statement, the items were removed and are intended to be reintroduced as seasonal content, as reported by gamerant.com.
The company said the seasonal event items had been added to the beta much earlier than intended in order to gather player feedback.
At launch, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 includes 28 Apex Attachments. Among the attachments seen in the beta but unavailable at release were the Kastov 762 and the 74U conversion, which players noticed after the beta test weekend.
Other beta attachments listed in the game's materials include the VEL 46 Snap, which adds a tactical sling and Quickdraw with Overkill; the Astaroth .57 Infiltrator, which adds a through-wall RF scope with a 1-round magazine; and the Cronen Maelstrom, which equips an underbarrel guided missile launcher.
Season 1 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 begins on November 6. Infinity Ward has not yet detailed Season 1 content.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 released on October 23, 2026 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. The Shipment multiplayer map is now live in-game, and the Halloween-themed modes Possession and Infected are coming next week.
