Alien: Isolation 2 Xenomorph hunts harder outdoors, uses weather to hide
Creative Assembly says the sequel's alien will be more aggressive in open areas and use storms to conceal its movements, per a developer Q&A.
Creative Assembly has revealed that the Xenomorph in Alien: Isolation 2 will hunt more aggressively in outdoor areas and use the weather to conceal its movements. The studio detailed the creature's behavior in a new developer Q&A, according to Collider.
Senior core gameplay designer Noelie Prost explained how the alien behaves in the sequel's open environments. The game takes place on a storm-battered colony world that includes the Weyland-Yutani outpost Kurosaki Station, and the sequel adds outdoor areas alongside the cramped interiors the series is known for.
Storms sweeping the colony are tied directly to the creature's stalking patterns, with the Xenomorph using the weather to hide its approach rather than relying only on the dark corridors of the first game.
From the Sevastopol to a colony world
Creative Assembly released the original Alien: Isolation in 2014, a survival horror game starring Amanda Ripley aboard the Sevastopol station. The sequel was previously confirmed as a follow-up set more than a decade after the events of the first game.
Creative Assembly has not announced a release date or platforms for Alien: Isolation 2.
