Bulkhead slows Wardogs updates, targets Season 3 for November 12
Executive producer Joe Brammer says the studio cannot sustain monthly seasons and will move to roughly three-month refreshes with a mid-season update.
Bulkhead will slow the update cadence for Wardogs to roughly three-month seasons with a smaller update halfway through, according to PCGamesN. Executive producer Joe Brammer said the studio must slow down and cannot sustain monthly seasons, and that Season 3 is currently targeted for Thursday, November 12.
Season 3 was brought significantly forward during Season 2's first weekend. Brammer said the studio's attempt to pack Season 2 with content was a huge mistake that lowered quality.
The new season will add limited or primitive servers aimed at replicating the low-to-mid game progression. Bulkhead is also trying to move away from the heavy vertical progression of Season 1, when the best equipment sat at the end of the tree.
On vehicles, lead game designer Pete Harries suggested that fuel mechanics could address them respawning quickly. Creative director Tim Nightingale and technical designer Mark Tadros also took part in the discussion.
Earlier Bulkhead release
Bulkhead's earlier game, Battalion 1944, failed to maintain a player base, and the studio refunded Kickstarter backers for it. Before Wardogs' release, the studio said it would not rush new content in during early access.
