Cairn gets free Deep Water DLC on PS5 and Steam

The Game Bakers released the first free DLC for its climbing game on October 30, 2026, adding three new areas and a no-risk fall mode.

The Game Bakers released the free DLC 'Cairn – On the Trail: Deep Water' for its climbing game Cairn on October 30, 2026, for PS5 and PC via Steam, according to news.denfaminicogamer.jp. The add-on is the first in a planned series of free DLC for the title.

The update adds three new climbing areas: two cliffs above open water and a climbing gym. A new mode lets players climb walls with water directly beneath them, so a fall carries no risk of injury.

Players take on the routes as the game's protagonist or the second playable character, and the free-roam mode now also lets players pick which of the two they climb as on the game's unclimbed mountain.

Base game discounted on Steam

The base game is on sale on Steam at 30 percent off, priced at 2380 yen instead of 3400 yen, until November 8.

Cairn launched on January 30, 2026. In the Indie World broadcast of October 28, 2026, a Nintendo Switch 2 version was announced for spring 2027, with a demo released the same day. The Game Bakers is a French independent studio founded in 2010 and known for Haven and Furi, and Kakehashi Games handled Japanese localization and release support.
