ModRetro ships first retail version of ClayFighter: Sculptor's Cut for N64

The $49.99 cartridge works on original NTSC Nintendo 64 consoles and ModRetro's M64, and is the game's first retail release.

ModRetro has released a new physical version of ClayFighter: Sculptor's Cut for the Nintendo 64, priced at $49.99, according to gamerant.com. The company says it is the first retail release of the fighting game.

The cartridge is compatible with original NTSC Nintendo 64 consoles as well as ModRetro's own M64 hardware. It supports the Rumble Pak and local co-op play.

The game includes 16 clay fighters, among them Earthworm Jim.

ClayFighter: Sculptor's Cut first appeared in 1998 as an updated version of ClayFighter 63 1/3. It was available only as a US rental exclusive through Blockbuster Video.

That rental-only distribution made original copies among the rarest and most expensive N64 games, with sealed copies previously selling for thousands of dollars.
