Final Fantasy XIV raid gets Savage version and split-half structure

Square Enix also plans to revise the loot system so players are not repeatedly losing rolls, according to game.watch.impress.co.jp.

Square Enix announced at Fan Festival 2026 in Tokyo that the 24-player alliance raid in Final Fantasy XIV can be progressed in two halves, a first and a second, according to game.watch.impress.co.jp. The same presentation confirmed that an 8-player high-difficulty Savage version of the alliance raid will be implemented alongside the 24-player version.

Under the new structure, players can queue for the half that offers the reward they want once the initial story quest is complete. The current loot-lotting system, in which players may repeatedly lose rolls, will also be revised.

The Savage version has two battle stages, and its mechanic difficulty is set at the level of Savage tier 3, the company said.

The content is being added as part of the Evangelion collaboration content FINAL FANTASY XIV — EVANGELION – Ghosts of Desire.
