Ghost Galaxy to produce new Battlestar Galactica board game edition

Ghost Galaxy has struck a deal with Universal and Fantasy Flight Games, with crowdfunding planned for early 2027.

Ghost Galaxy announced an agreement with Universal and Fantasy Flight Games to produce a new edition of Battlestar Galactica: The Board Game. A crowdfunding campaign for the new edition is planned for early 2027, according to screenrant.com.

The company said it expects to open the crowdfunding preview page in the coming weeks. Pricing, expansion content and an actual release date for the new edition remain unconfirmed.

Ghost Galaxy is led by CEO Christian T. Petersen, who founded Fantasy Flight Games. The original Battlestar Galactica: The Board Game was designed by Corey Konieczka and released in 2008.

That edition received three expansions — Pegasus, Exodus and Daybreak — before later going out of print. The Battlestar Galactica reboot series aired from 2004 to 2009, while spin-offs such as Caprica struggled to match the original's success.

Fans have also seen a planned Peacock reboot of Battlestar Galactica shelved, leaving the tabletop line as one of the franchise's active fronts.
