Good Morning! Teacher fan game gets 1.3.0 sprite update

The GMT Game Project's 1.3.0 update redraws the main characters' standing sprites and facial expressions to match newly added minor characters.

The GMT Game Project, a fan game based on the manhwa Good Morning! Teacher, released its 1.3.0 update on November 1, redrawing the standing sprites and facial expressions of the main characters, according to gamemeca.com. The developer said the artwork was reworked to match the quality of the minor characters added in the same update.

The game is a raising simulation modeled on Tokimeki Memorial, with policy choices on weekdays and relationship-building on weekends, and it also draws on Princess Maker 2's detailed stats. Beyond academics and stamina, players manage boldness, trustworthiness and empathy. A first playthrough to a single ending takes 12 to 20 hours.

Players follow Park Yeong-min's viewpoint across an in-game timeline that runs from 1996 to 1998, based on researched high school schedules of the era. Endings can pair him with Cheon Ju-hyeon, Baek Seung-ae, Jang Mi-ran or Lee Song-mi.

A 20-year gap and a return

Good Morning! Teacher was serialized by the author Seo Yeong-ung in Boys Champ from 1995 to 1999 and concluded in 16 volumes. The developer opened a fan game website in the early 2000s and received illustrations from the original author; in 2004, a prototype connecting art, music and dialogue boxes was made with the game development club's DirectX engine and shown at a festival.

The project then stalled for about 20 years and its domain expired, taking the website down. In early 2026, the developer resumed work with AI assistance after showing old project materials to an AI agent. The first build was released on May 15, 2026, Teachers' Day, and a 1.0.0 full version followed in August 2026.

The developer aims to finish the game by May 15 next year, Teachers' Day, and rates current completeness at about 85 percent, with story as the remaining gap.
