Grim Siege goes permanently free to play on Steam

Developer Saqred Games says it wants as many players as possible to discover the dark fantasy card game, which launched at $6 in September 2026.

Grim Siege is now permanently free to play on Steam as of October 29, according to gamerant.com. The dark fantasy trading card game previously sold for $6.

Developer Saqred Games said the move is intended to let as many players as possible discover the game. Players who already bought Grim Siege received in-game currency as a thank you, the studio said.

The game launched on Steam in September 2026 at that $6 price. It currently holds roughly 90% positive user reviews on Steam from a modest number of ratings.

Grim Siege offers 1v1 and 2v2 PvP, a PvE roguelike mode, ranked matches and private lobbies. Matches are built around three resources: Stone, Blood and Slaves.

Other free-to-play shifts on Steam

The change follows other Steam titles that have dropped their price entirely. In October 2025, Cartomancy Anthology became free after previously costing $24.99, and Phobos Down went permanently free after selling for $5.99. H-Hour: World's Elite also returned to Steam as a free game, having previously cost about $25.
