Last Gambit Leaves Early Access at $4.99 on November 13

Players who download the chess-inspired game before its 1.0 launch keep it free, developer Mads says.

Last Gambit will leave Early Access and launch version 1.0 on November 13, 2026, priced at $4.99 on Steam, according to Screen Rant. Anyone who downloads the game before the price takes effect keeps it for free after launch.

The developer, Mads, has built the game around 27 unique chess-inspired pieces that players unlock, alongside a story mode and an online multiplayer mode.

Mads has said AI was used for several pieces of artwork, including pieces and skins, and that the generated art was reviewed and refined.
