BIOHAZARD RE:2 ARCADE to launch in arcades in spring 2027
Bandai Namco Experience's gun-shooting arcade game based on Resident Evil 2 supports up to two players and uses a recoil gun controller.
Bandai Namco Experience announced on November 7 that the arcade gun-shooting game BIOHAZARD RE:2 ARCADE is planned to operate from spring 2027, according to news.denfaminicogamer.jp. The title is based on the survival horror game Resident Evil 2.
The arcade game supports one to two players, with two-player co-op against the game's creatures. Players use a gun controller that reproduces recoil when firing.
The cabinet is equipped with an air-jet mechanism and a floor vibration mechanism, alongside 5.1-channel surround speakers and a woofer.
Story Mode and Tactical Mode
Story Mode is set in locations such as the police station and Raccoon City streets, and pits players against creatures including Lickers and the Tyrant. A Tactical Mode aimed at advanced players challenges shooting skill with a limited number of bullets. Items familiar from Resident Evil 2, such as green herbs and Mr. Raccoon dolls, appear in the game.
Resident Evil 2, the survival horror game the arcade title draws on, was released by Capcom in 2019 as a remake of the 1998 game Resident Evil 2.
