Melvor Idle 2: A RuneScape Adventure Hits Early Access November 17
Jagex will publish the Games by Malcs sequel, which now carries the official subtitle A RuneScape Adventure, the company said in a blog post.
Jagex has announced that Melvor Idle 2: A RuneScape Adventure will launch into Early Access on November 17. The publisher confirmed the date and the sequel's official subtitle in a recent blog post.
Jagex said it is partnering with Games by Malcs, the studio behind the original Melvor Idle, to support the sequel, and that it will publish the game itself.
The subtitle ties the idle game series more explicitly to Jagex's long-running RuneScape franchise. The first Melvor Idle launched in 2021 and holds a "Very Positive" rating on Steam.
From indie project to Jagex catalogue
Melvor Idle was developed by indie developer Brendan Malcolm, who founded Games by Malcs, and was eventually published by Jagex. Melvor Idle 2 was first announced in 2025.
Jagex also used the announcement to note that RuneScape has been running for over 25 years, pointing to Old School RuneScape and Dragonwilds as recent successes. RuneScape 4 was announced at RuneFest last month.
