Nintendo EPD Production Group No. 3 Leads Ocarina of Time Remake

Nintendo's Ask the Developer article confirms the studio behind the Ocarina of Time remake, which is scheduled for release on Nov. 5.

Nintendo EPD Production Group No. 3 is leading development on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, Nintendo confirmed in an Ask the Developer article. The remake is scheduled to launch on Nov. 5.

Four of the six developers interviewed for the article are from Production Group No. 3, according to the feature. The remaining two are Eiji Aonuma, the longtime Zelda producer and former group manager of Group No. 3, and Hidemaro Fujibayashi, who has directed several Zelda games at the studio.

The credit marks a shift from the previous remake of Ocarina of Time. That version, released for the Nintendo 3DS in 2011, was made by Grezzo, not Production Group No. 3.

Grezzo also made the 3DS version of Majora's Mask and led development on 2024's The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Monolith Soft, a Nintendo-owned studio, served as a support studio on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and is developing Xenoblade Genesis for a 2027 release on the Nintendo Switch 2.
