Rumored Switch 2 Lite Specs and $299 Price Surface Online
GameGPU reports the smaller console would launch in 2027 with a 7.1-inch display and a Samsung-built chip that cuts power use by 15%.
Reported specifications and a $299 price for a rumored Nintendo Switch 2 Lite have surfaced online via GameGPU. The smaller console is reportedly planned for release in 2027, and Nintendo has not confirmed the device.
According to the report, the Switch 2 Lite would carry a 7.1-inch display, about 0.8 inches smaller than the screen on the original Switch 2. It is said to use a single-chip system built on Samsung 8LPU Plus technology, which reportedly cuts power consumption by 15%.
The handheld is also reported to run games natively at 1080p resolution, with a dedicated performance mode for demanding titles.
The details remain unofficial. Nintendo launched the Switch 2 in June 2025, and the company has since sold more than 23 million units of the console, according to its own figures. The original Switch later received a Lite model and an OLED revision, a pattern the rumor suggests could repeat.
Nintendo's 2027 slate for the Switch 2 includes Metroid Ravenous, Xenoblade Genesis and Pokemon Winds and Waves, while a full-scale remake of Ocarina of Time is set to debut on the platform on November 5, 2026.
