Salient Games announces Realpolitiks 4 for 2027 release

The strategy game returns to the series' 2017 nation-management roots with 160+ playable countries and a campaign starting January 1, 2000.

Salient Games announced it is developing Realpolitiks 4: Back to the Roots, a real-time strategy game about running a nation, for release in 2027, according to 4gamer.net. The studio has acquired the series IP and formed a new development team for the project.

Players choose from more than 160 countries and manage politics, the economy, diplomacy and the military. The game returns to the gameplay concept of the 2017 first entry, Realpolitiks, with a more detailed nation-management system and a renewed user interface.

The main campaign starts on January 1, 2000, and includes events inspired by real history. Diplomacy lets players seek membership in organizations such as the EU, NATO, BRICS and ASEAN.

Advisors inspired by historical figures such as Bismarck, Keynes and Mahatma Gandhi can be appointed to carry out policies.

The 2027 launch is planned to coincide with the series' 10th anniversary. The first Realpolitiks was released in 2017.
