Open-source ScreenPlink turns a monitor into a laser shooting target
A Reddit user published ScreenPlink on GitHub, a free game where a webcam tracks laser hits on the screen.
A Reddit user with the handle vkorost has released ScreenPlink, an open-source laser dry-fire shooting game, on GitHub. The project is free to download, and the write-up points players to the repository hosted on GitHub.
ScreenPlink turns a computer monitor into a target. A webcam placed beside the screen watches the display, and the app works out which pixel was hit, places a bullet hole at that spot and knocks the target down.
The game can be played with a laser trainer pistol or with a laser cartridge inserted into the user's own gun. It includes multiple game modes and a two-player mode.
Players must supply their own laser pointer; the software itself does not ship with hardware. The build was put together with Claude Code, according to xda-developers.com.
Earlier Claude-assisted screen work
The release follows an earlier report, from a few days before this article, in which someone reportedly accessed a Samsung TV by letting Claude take photos of the screen while it was working.
