Smalland 2: Lost Realms Announced as 10-Player Co-Op Prequel for 2027

The survival game adds swimming, rock climbing and a four-branch Perk skill tree, and will launch on PC, PS5, Switch 2 and Xbox.

Smalland 2: Lost Realms, an open world survival game for up to 10 co-op players, has been announced with a release window of 2027. The game is a prequel to Smalland: Survive the Wilds, according to gamerant.com.

Traversal in the prequel expands beyond the earlier game. Players will be able to swim through water and scale rocks and foliage, and mushrooms and leaves can be used to bounce higher above the forest floor.

The announcement also outlines a Perk system built around a skill tree, split into four role groupings: Survivalist, Vanguard, Beastmaster and Wyrdweaver. Modular systems are included for breaking apart plants while gathering and for crafted items with specialized properties.

Merge Games Limited is attached to the project. Combat and stealth changes have not been detailed yet; the studio said they will be covered in a future developer update.

Smalland 2: Lost Realms is set to launch on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox.
