Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Adds Sega Console Cars and Duel Mode
Sega detailed a Sega Consoles Pack with Genesis, Saturn and Dreamcast-inspired cars, plus one-on-one Duel Mode races, per GameSpot.
Sega is adding a Sega Consoles Pack to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, with cars modeled on the Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn and Dreamcast, according to GameSpot. The announcement also confirmed a new Duel Mode that swaps the standard 12-player races for one-on-one contests.
The development team described the console cars in a PlayStation Blog post. The Dreamcast-inspired vehicle recreates the console's Visual Memory Unit, using original reference data from that era.
Experimenting with the Genesis Tower
Sega said the Genesis Tower design required considerable experimentation. The studio did not give a release date for the pack or the mode.
The game arrived in 2025 and has expanded with additional content over its first year. Crossovers announced for the title include a team-up with Neon Genesis Evangelion.
The game is currently available on PC for $22 at Fanatical. GameSpot and Fanatical are both owned by Fandom.
