Christopher Meloni Returns as Stabler for Law & Order: SVU's 600th Episode

Meloni will reprise Elliot Stabler in season 28's milestone episode, his first SVU appearance since Organized Crime ended.

Christopher Meloni will reprise his role as Elliot Stabler in the 600th episode of Law & Order: SVU, according to screenrant.com. It marks his first return to the series since Law & Order: Organized Crime was cancelled.

Mariska Hargitay is confirmed to appear in the milestone episode as Captain Olivia Benson, setting up a reunion of the two long-running characters.

Season 28 of the NBC drama also features Ice-T as Odafin Tutuola, Peter Scanavino as ADA Carisi, Kelli Giddish as Sergeant Rollins, Kevin Kane as Detective Bruno, Aimé Donna Kelly as Captain Curry and Corey Cott as Detective Griffin.

A return for Rafael Barba in the 600th episode is unlikely. Raúl Esparza, who played Barba, is starring in the new Broadway musical Galileo, whose performances begin on November 10.

Barba's Broadway Schedule

Esparza spent six seasons on SVU as ADA Barba before exiting as a regular in season 19. He later returned to Broadway for the revival of Chess in 2018, and came back for four more episodes of SVU as well as a guest stint on Law & Order: Organized Crime.

Meloni, for his part, missed SVU's 500th episode, making his confirmed appearance in the 600th a first for the character at that mark.
