Jack Lowden Declines to Add to James Bond Rumors
Scottish actor Jack Lowden says he won't comment on speculation that he is among the actors testing for the next James Bond role.
Jack Lowden said in an interview with British GQ that he will not add to the noise surrounding rumors that he is among the actors testing for the role of James Bond. The Scottish actor called the speculation flattering but said he does not really listen to it.
Reports, including from The Hollywood Reporter, placed Lowden among a small group of actors eyed for the next Bond alongside Callum Turner and Josh O'Connor. The Hollywood Reporter reported that screen tests for the Amazon MGM Studios James Bond film were set to take place in London at the end of October.
The next Bond film is directed by Denis Villeneuve and written by Steven Knight.
Earlier speculation
In September, Gary Oldman, Lowden's co-star on Slow Horses, told Canada's The Morning Show that the Bond role had been cast and that he hoped it was Lowden, though The Hollywood Reporter was later told by a source that the role had not yet been chosen at that time. In October, Saoirse Ronan told the Associated Press that the Bond speculation was its own thing and not a subject coming up at home.
Also in late October, sources told The Hollywood Reporter that Jack O'Connell was not in the mix and that Jacob Elordi would not be testing for the role.
