Marvel Studios Sets X-Men Cast: Sink, Connor, Abbott, Driver

Sadie Sink plays Jean Grey, Kit Connor is Cyclops, Christopher Abbott is Professor X and Adam Driver is Mister Sinister in Jake Schreier's film.

Marvel Studios has locked in the lead cast for its untitled X-Men film, with Sadie Sink set to play Jean Grey, Kit Connor cast as Scott Summers/Cyclops, Christopher Abbott as Charles Xavier/Professor X and Adam Driver as Nathaniel Milbury/Mister Sinister, according to screenrant.com.

The film is directed by Jake Schreier and is confirmed for release on May 5, 2028. Filming is expected to start in 2027.

Sink's casting places her in a role previously played on screen in the Fox-era X-Men films. She is known for playing Max in Stranger Things and for appearances in Netflix's Fear Street movies and The Whale. Connor had a breakout role as Nick Nelson in Heartstopper and voiced a role in The Wild Robot.

Roles opened up by the Disney acquisition

Disney's acquisition of 20th Century gave Marvel Studios access to the X-Men characters, making the reboot a home for high-profile roles. Some Fox-era castings may continue, but most characters will be recast.

Jean Grey was previously introduced in the MCU in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, where she and her sister Sara were orphaned and Jean was experimented on by Damage Control.
