Erin Foster says writers planning pivotal Dax Shepard role in Nobody Wants This

The creator said the part grew while the writers were in the room, but Netflix has not yet renewed the series for Season 4.

Erin Foster, creator and executive producer of Nobody Wants This, said she and the show's writers have been writing Dax Shepard into the series, according to deadline.com. She described the planned part as pivotal and important.

Foster said the idea for Shepard's role grew bigger while the writers were in the room, and that he would not need to appear for the whole season. She also asked Shepard how many episodes he would want to be in.

There is no confirmed order beyond that: Netflix has not yet renewed Nobody Wants This for Season 4. The series stars Kristen Bell, who is Shepard's wife, and Adam Brody.

Shepard, who hosts the Armchair Expert podcast, recently returned to acting in the upcoming second season of Apple TV's Bad Monkey after Bill Lawrence cast him in scenes with Vince Vaughn. Before that, his last onscreen acting role was in 2020's Buddy Games.

Nobody Wants This is inspired by Erin Foster's relationship with her husband, Simon Tikhman. In the series, agnostic podcaster Joanne Williams, played by Bell, begins a romance with Rabbi Noah Roklov, played by Brody.
