Skydance Weighs Moving Paramount+ Dramas to HBO
Casey Bloys now leads combined Paramount+ and HBO content operations; no series have moved and no decisions are final, per Deadline.
Skydance is reviewing Paramount+'s drama slate and discussing whether upcoming Paramount+ series could move to HBO, with no decisions yet made, according to Deadline. Casey Bloys now oversees the combined Paramount+ and HBO/HBO Max content operations as Co-Chair and Chief Content Officer of Skydance DTC.
Two titles cited as logical candidates for a move are Discretion, starring Nicole Kidman and Elle Fanning, and The Best of Us, a limited series about 9/11 first responders starring Jeremy Strong. No series have migrated: everything earmarked for Paramount+ remains there for now.
On the Paramount+ side, Sarah Aubrey, now Head of Paramount+, Max Originals and International Programming, has added oversight of all Paramount+ programming. Francesca Orsi was promoted from EVP to President, HBO Drama Series and Films, and may oversee Paramount+ dramas with HBO DNA. Aubrey and Orsi are currently reviewing the Paramount+ drama slate together.
Paramount+'s original drama line-up is led by the Taylor Sheridan universe. As part of the restructuring announced on October 23, Jane Wiseman, Paramount+ EVP and Head of Originals, is leaving the company.
