Microsoft brings Advanced Shader Delivery to Nvidia RTX PCs

Microsoft says the feature now runs on compatible Windows 11 devices with AMD, Intel, Nvidia and Qualcomm GPUs, with Steam and Epic Games Store support coming soon.

Microsoft announced on October 21 that Advanced Shader Delivery now supports a wider range of Windows 11 devices, including PCs with Nvidia GeForce RTX GPUs. The feature is available on compatible Windows 11 machines with GPUs from AMD, Intel, Nvidia and Qualcomm, according to Automaton Media.

Intel and Qualcomm released supporting drivers earlier, and Nvidia added Advanced Shader Delivery in GeForce Game Ready Driver 621.01, released the same day as the announcement.

For now, the feature works with supported titles on the Microsoft Store and the Xbox PC app. Microsoft said rollout to the Epic Games Store and Steam is coming soon.

Developer side

Microsoft also outlined guidance for developers on collecting a game's SODB and uploading it to game stores. An Agility SDK release planned for October will include improvements for more efficient compilation of complex state objects across configurations.

Unreal Engine 5.8.4 already supports incorporating SODB into the development process, and support is planned for Unity in 2027.

Advanced Shader Delivery debuted in October 2025 alongside the ROG Xbox Ally handheld gaming PCs. Support later expanded to PCs with AMD GPUs, while support for Intel and Nvidia GPUs had previously been announced as planned. Microsoft has reported startup-time cuts with the feature, including up to 85% for Avowed and a reduction from nearly a minute and a half to about 4 seconds for Forza Horizon 6.
