Anthropic Adds Smart Report and Shared Team Budget for Claude

Anthropic released Smart Report on October 28, a feature for its Claude AI product that analyses portions of team conversation logs to summarise work performed, outputs and spending, according to ZDNet Korea. The tool also identifies points where tasks were blocked by errors in external system connections or tool execution.

Alongside the reporting feature, the company introduced a shared team budget function that applies a joint monthly budget while keeping individual per-employee limits in place.

Anthropic said Smart Report is not intended as a tool for individual performance evaluation or HR decisions.

The release followed two days of product announcements. On October 27 the company launched Claude for Financial Advisors, which connects Claude to asset management, client management and financial planning tools. The next day it added legal-work tools that let legal teams connect corporate materials and external systems and share customised tools with other departments.

Anthropic also disclosed results from drug candidate design and manufacturing document review work carried out with six organisations. Partner Envida cut manufacturing document review time by about 89% using Claude, and in a test reviewing 1,061 pages the model caught all 11 problems found by humans while additionally finding 7 that humans missed.

IPO groundwork

The product rollouts come as the company prepares for a public listing. On September 26 it published IPO registration documents with the US SEC, and in September 2026 it announced its Enterprise Frontier Safeguards data protection framework. Anthropic has also acquired one-person biotech company Mithril Medicines and continues rare-disease treatment research.
