Box unveils Architect tool for building AI agent workflows

Box Architect lets teams describe tasks in natural language and choose models from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Nvidia and IBM at each step.

Box announced Box Architect on November 5, a tool for designing, testing and managing agent workflows built on enterprise content stored in Box, according to TechCrunch.

Users describe a task or goal in natural language, and Box Architect determines the steps, decision points and handoff points automatically. The company said existing access permissions, document classifications and retention policies apply at every step of a workflow.

Teams can test workflows against real content and exception cases before deployment, and can require human approval at key moments. After a workflow goes live, Box Architect monitors results and suggests improvements.

Different AI models can be selected at each step, including models from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Nvidia and IBM. Box cited law firm contract review, bank customer onboarding and insurer claims processing as use cases.

Security work alongside the workflow tool

Box said it is also developing threat defense features against mass data exfiltration, session hijacking, account takeover and mass file deletion. Those features are planned for Enterprise Advanced and Shield customers in early next year, while Box Architect will be available in beta to Enterprise Advanced customers within this quarter.
