Chips&Media posts Q3 revenue of 7.16 billion won on AI, robotics licensing

Chips&Media said new AI SoC and humanoid robot licenses in China and mobile licenses from a North American customer drove its third-quarter results.

Chips&Media reported on October 27 consolidated third-quarter 2026 revenue of 7.16 billion won and operating profit of 1.66 billion won, according to aitimes.com. The semiconductor IP company attributed the quarter's licensing gains to new deals in AI SoC and robotics.

License revenue rose 33.0% year on year to 4.43 billion won and led overall sales growth, the company said. Royalty revenue declined as customers' chip production fell amid memory supply conditions.

In the quarter, Chips&Media recorded its first license revenue tied to a new automotive project and an on-device AI semiconductor business at a domestic fabless company. It also secured new licenses in China for AI SoC and humanoid robots, and continued supplying a new mobile license to a North American customer.

Net loss came to 600 million won, reflecting foreign-exchange losses and valuation losses on financial assets, the company said.

Year-on-year comparison

Third-quarter revenue and operating profit rose 8.2% and 8.7% respectively from the same period a year earlier, the company said.
