COSMOKE to start building key modules for inline MRAM metrology tool

COSMOKE plans to develop the magnetic field generator and optical module for its COSMOKE SEMI production-line analysis equipment starting in 2026.

COSMOKE, a deep-tech startup developing non-destructive magnetic thin-film analysis equipment, said it will begin full-scale development of the magnetic field generator and optical module for its COSMOKE SEMI inline semiconductor analysis equipment in 2026, as it moves toward commercializing the production-line model.

COSMOKE SEMI is designed to integrate a magnetic field generator, optical module, high-performance stage, wafer transfer module (EFEM), fan filter unit (FFU) and AI-based analysis and correction software into one system. The tool is aimed at MRAM and MR sensor manufacturing processes.

The company said it is working with semiconductor inline equipment specialists to upgrade the equipment's functions for production-line use.

COSMOKE also plans to extend its research-grade analysis tool into a high-speed, high-reliability inline analysis solution for production sites. Its research-grade COSMOKE RESEARCH model has already been validated by customer companies.

Background

CEO Jang Beomjin, an assistant professor of robotics at Hanyang University ERICA, founded COSMOKE in 2023. Conventional semiconductor metrology has focused on thin-film thickness and surface defect analysis.
