Google confirms Pixel Watch battery drain, fix in progress
Google says only a small number of Pixel Watch users are hit by the drain and has not given a rollout date for the fix.
Google said on Reddit that it has identified the battery drain problem affecting several generations of its Pixel Watch and is working on a fix that will arrive as soon as possible, according to Android Authority. The company did not say when the update would roll out.
In its statement, Google said the issue affects only a small number of Pixel Watch users. The affected models are the Pixel Watch 2, Pixel Watch 3, Pixel Watch 4 and Pixel Watch 5.
The acknowledgement follows a report the day before from Android Police describing battery drain problems across multiple generations of the smartwatch.
Google has not disclosed a cause for the drain or a timeline for the software release. Owners of the affected models have no confirmed date for when the fix will reach their devices.
