IBIS Joins LG-led Open-Source AI-SDV Platform Project Through 2029
IBIS will build Eclipse S-CORE middleware and VSS-compliant vehicle data modules, validated on real test vehicles.
IBIS will take part as a joint research institute in the government-backed "Open Source-based AI-SDV Integrated Platform and Cloud Virtual Verification Environment" project, the vehicle and mobility software company announced on November 3, 2026.
LG Electronics leads the project, which runs until December 2029. IBIS joins Arent, Gunwoo Solution, AV Genius and Kookmin University as joint research institutes, according to datanet.co.kr.
IBIS is responsible for AI-SDV platform middleware modules, data abstraction modules for standard vehicle data compatibility, and vehicle interface communication modules for multi-zone control.
As part of that work, the company will develop middleware functions for Eclipse S-CORE, an open-source project for vehicle high-performance computers, and build modules compliant with COVESA's Vehicle Signal Specification (VSS) and other vehicle data standards.
The developed middleware, data abstraction and communication modules will be validated on actual test vehicles.
