South Korea's AI ministry opens contest for "Everyone's AI" brand name

The science ministry is accepting brand-name and slogan entries for its "Everyone's AI" service through November 6, with a 2 million won top prize.

South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT said on October 26 that it is running a public contest to name and slogan its "Everyone's AI" policy service, with entries open until November 6, according to digitaltoday.co.kr.

Entrants must submit a brand name of no more than 5 characters, a slogan of no more than 20 characters and a proposal explanation of up to 300 characters. Any South Korean citizen may enter, with a limit of one submission per person.

The ministry will announce the winners on November 16. Six prizes are on offer, including one grand prize worth 2 million won, for a total prize pool of 5.5 million won. Ten other valid entrants, excluding the winners, will be drawn at random to receive gift vouchers worth 50,000 won each.

The chosen name and slogan will be used on service screens and in external promotional materials after consultation with the participating companies.

Consortiums already running beta services

Last August the ministry selected three consortiums as operators, including groups involving SK Telecom, Kakao and KT. Each consortium is currently running a beta service for people involved in the service and plans to launch a full service within the year.
