KT Genie Music unveils Fantree early results, 2027 roadmap

KT Genie Music says its Fantree fandom service has drawn more than 40,000 users and 30 million streams since launching in September.

KT Genie Music on November 6, 2026 disclosed early usage figures for its fandom service Fantree and outlined features planned for next year, according to techm.kr. The company said the service is moving toward fandom scoring, artist rankings and commerce links.

Fantree launched in September 2026 and opens a fandom space for any artist who has released even a single track, without a separate entry process. About 7,200 artists have been matched with fans on the service, and the number of users who have formed those fan connections has passed 40,000, the company said. Streaming on Fantree has surpassed 30 million plays.

Three official artist events have been held since launch. More than 1,500 fans of the virtual idol group PLAVE joined a stream party, and about 100 fans of NCT WISH also listened together, according to the company.

Under the roadmap, KT Genie Music plans to add a fandom activity score and artist-by-artist rankings in the first half of 2027. In the second half, it intends to link concert ticket sales and trading of photocards and merchandise to the platform.

The service starts from the roughly 3 million monthly active users of Genie, KT Genie Music's music streaming platform. The head of the company's service division, who oversees Fantree, previously ran the indie music distribution service Genie Lilly.
