Motorola Signature 27 debuts with 12,000-nit display, €1,400 price
Motorola's first GrapheneOS-ready phone opens pre-sales on November 16 in Europe, the Middle East, Turkey and Africa, with Android 17 and 7 years of updates.
Motorola has announced the Signature 27, its new flagship phone, which will open pre-sales on November 16 in Europe, the Middle East, Turkey and Africa at a starting price of €1,400, according to gsmarena.com. Pricing climbs to as high as €1,800 in some regions.
The Signature 27 is the first Motorola phone to support GrapheneOS, the privacy-focused Android fork. It ships with Android 17 and Motorola promises 7 years of OS updates. Power comes from a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset paired with 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.
The 6.8-inch tandem OLED display reaches up to 12,000 nits of peak brightness, which Motorola claims is the brightest smartphone display ever. The tandem design improves efficiency by up to 34% and extends panel life by up to 121%, the company says.
Camera and battery
The 50MP main camera uses Sony's first LOFIC sensor, the Lytia L910. A 200MP sensor sits behind a 3x telephoto lens, joined by 50MP ultra-wide and 50MP selfie cameras, plus an EVS (Event-based Vision Sensor) action sensor for freezing fast-moving objects.
The 7,000mAh battery supports 90W wired and 50W wireless charging, reaching 0-100% in 80 minutes. The phone measures 8mm thick and weighs 227g.
The previous Motorola Signature, announced earlier, used the non-Elite Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset and shipped with a 50MP telephoto camera, at 7mm thick and 186g.
