Pixel 9 Pro Fold repair reportedly returns as Pixel 11 Pro Fold
A Reddit user says Google is replacing a sent-in Pixel 9 Pro Fold with a 512GB Pixel 11 Pro Fold, double the original 256GB storage.
A Pixel 9 Pro Fold owner who sent the device to Google for repair is reportedly receiving a Pixel 11 Pro Fold as a replacement, according to Android Police. The replacement unit is a 512GB model, while the phone sent in was a 256GB version.
The report traces back to a Reddit post in which the user described the device as covered by an "extended warranty." Android Authority amplified the post before Android Police covered it.
Google extended coverage for Pixel 9 series phones, including the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, for up to three years after determining that a limited number of units could experience issues affecting functionality. In its original announcement, the company said only that a limited number of Pixel 9 Pro Fold devices might have those problems.
The story circulated alongside discussion of Google's foldable lineup, including the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, which was mentioned as possibly being out of stock, and Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8.
