The Pokémon Company, Fender unveil Red and Green guitars for 2027
The Made in Japan Stratocaster and Telecaster carry pixel art and an 8-Bit Sound System activated by the volume knob.
The Pokémon Company announced a collaboration with Fender on two special-edition electric guitars inspired by Pokémon Red and Green, according to screenrant.com. The collection pairs the Made in Japan Pokémon Red Version Stratocaster with the Pokémon Green Version Telecaster.
Both instruments carry Pokémon pixel art on their bodies, along with specially designed pickguards that shift to a fluorescent-like effect depending on the viewing angle. Each also includes an 8-Bit Sound System that is activated by pressing the volume knob and blends retro electronic sounds with the guitars' natural tones.
The guitars use custom-developed single-coil pickups. Fender positions the Red Stratocaster for higher output, while the Green Telecaster is described as delivering crisp high-end tones.
Each guitar ships with a 30th anniversary neck plate, an illustrated certificate of authenticity, a hard case and a collectible tin containing 11 guitar picks. Both are scheduled for international release in 2027, with preorder details to be announced.
