Robosen opens pre-orders for US$1,499 Megatron robot

The 21-inch Transformers figure converts between robot and tank modes and ships this December, Robosen says.

Robosen has opened pre-orders for the Transformers Megatron Flagship Auto-Converting Robot at US$1,499, with the figure slated for release this December, according to cbr.com.

The robot stands 21 inches tall and switches between robot mode and tank mode by voice command or through an app. It packs 36 servo-motors and 118 microchips, and can walk, punch and slash as a robot, or climb, pivot and drive on its track in tank mode.

Frank Welker voices more than 270 lines stored in the figure, which also lets users program custom sequences. Robosen developed the robot over 3 years of research and development in collaboration with Hasbro.
