Sigma FP2 camera supply may be delayed as orders exceed expectations

Sigma says production cannot keep up with demand for the FP2 and the EVF-21 viewfinder, both due to go on sale on November 11.

Sigma said on October 29 that supply of its Sigma FP2 camera and the ELECTRONIC VIEWFINDER EVF-21 may be delayed, according to dc.watch.impress.co.jp. Both products are scheduled to go on sale on November 11.

The company said orders have exceeded its expectations and production cannot keep up with demand. As a result, some customers who pre-ordered may have to wait longer to receive the product after launch.

The Sigma FP2 is a full-frame mirrorless camera with a 24.5-megapixel partially stacked CMOS sensor, a tilting rear monitor and about 70GB of built-in memory.

The EVF-21 is an external electronic viewfinder for the camera. Sigma did not give a revised delivery schedule for either product.
