SK Telecom, KT and LG Uplus Detail New AI Moves

SK Telecom, KT and LG Uplus each announced new AI and infrastructure measures, techm.kr reported. The announcements cover AI-driven work reform at SK Telecom, a submarine cable repair agreement signed by SK Broadband, KT's AI model platform launch and an LG Uplus data center cooling partnership.
SK Telecom said it has entered an "AX Innovation 2.0" phase, redesigning work processes and collaboration around AI to raise organizational productivity. About 4,000 employees took part in building AI agents, and 1,500 of them are now in use. The company runs three programs for the effort: the AX Enabler task force, the AX Sandbox and the AX Catalyst.
SK Broadband signed a memorandum of understanding with LS Marine Solution on October 27 for emergency repair cooperation on the shallow-water section of the SJC2 submarine cable linking Korea, Japan and Singapore. LS Marine Solution will manage the low-depth coastal section off Busan, and the two companies will maintain an emergency dispatch fleet and a specialized equipment system.
