New Apple CEO John Ternus is planning a broad overhaul of the company aimed at making it run faster and leaner, according to a Bloomberg report. The plan calls for releasing more products throughout the year and relying less on Apple's typical spring-and-fall release cadence.
As part of the restructuring, Apple has dismissed a number of engineering program managers in its hardware engineering division over the last two weeks, including roughly half a dozen directors. Affected employees were given weeks to find other positions within Apple and will be laid off later this year if they do not.
Ternus also wants to increase revenue from Apple's services division, working alongside Eddy Cue and CFO Kevan Parekh.
