Tesla Secures $30B in Credit Lines from Citibank, Wells Fargo

Tesla has secured $30 billion in new credit lines from Citibank and Wells Fargo to scale production of the Cybercab, Optimus, and Tesla Semi.

Tesla has secured $30 billion in new credit lines from Citibank and Wells Fargo, the company announced, as it looks to scale production of its Cybercab robotaxi, Optimus humanoid robot, and Tesla Semi electric truck.

Citibank agreed to a $20 billion three-year delayed-draw term loan facility, while Wells Fargo signed an $8 billion five-year revolving credit facility and a separate $2 billion revolving credit facility with a 364-day term.

In a regulatory filing, Tesla said it does not plan to draw on these loan facilities this year. The company reported the agreements as part of its regular financial disclosures.

The new credit lines come as Tesla has projected it will spend at least $25 billion on capital expenditures for 2026. The company has built new dedicated factories for the Semi and the Optimus robot, and has been preparing to ramp up production of the Cybercab.

Tesla finished the second quarter of this year with around $9 billion in debt and more than $40 billion in cash and investments, according to its financial statements. The credit facilities provide additional financial flexibility as the company invests in its next-generation products.
