Uber: AI agents requested just 4 rides during Halloween week

Uber also said AI agents placed 500 Uber Eats orders that week, against roughly 320 million trips and orders in the third quarter.

Uber said that during Halloween week only 4 rides were requested through AI agents, while the same agents placed 500 orders on Uber Eats, according to figures the company discussed around its third-quarter results on November 3, 2026.

For scale, Uber reported about 320 million total trips and orders across Uber and Uber Eats in the third quarter. The agent numbers cover a single week and represent a very small share of that activity.

Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi described AI agent ordering as very early, with a very limited response so far. He said hailing an Uber through the app takes an average of 50 seconds, and reordering food takes 90 seconds.

Even so, Khosrowshahi said he still expects AI agents to become a new channel that increases demand. The story was reported by TechCrunch.

Competitors see similar volumes

In October 2025, DoorDash said it had received only a few hundred orders through AI agents, a similarly small figure for agent-driven ordering. OpenAI, Anthropic and Google have been rolling out AI agents that perform tasks on users' behalf.
