Vcat says AI shopping broadcast beat human host in Naver sales test
Vcat CEO Jeong Beom-jin said AI content cut production time to three days and cost to about one-tenth, with rollout planned from November.
Vcat CEO Jeong Beom-jin said at the Futuring 26 conference in Seoul on October 28 that an AI-generated broadcast produced by his company ranked first in sales on Naver Shopping Live, while a show host broadcast ranked third.
Naver split incoming traffic in half between a show host broadcast and AI content aired at the same time, then compared the sales results, according to techm.kr.
Vcat said producing the AI content cut production time from 30 days to within 3 days and reduced production cost to about one-tenth of the conventional method.
The company is developing a system that automates the Naver Shopping Live production process, generating a 10-minute script and roughly 15-second video scenes from product and campaign information. Vcat plans to use the method for Naver Shopping Live broadcasts starting in November.
Beyond shopping live
Vcat has worked with Hyundai Motor for three years to build an AI advertising production system used across more than 500 overseas locations, and plans to extend that marketing production approach to Kia next year. The company also aims to connect individual AI agents to automate the entire marketing process next year, with humans reviewing the AI results.
