YMTC parent CCSH halts $4.9 billion Shanghai STAR Market IPO

CCSH told employees the listing was postponed for "multiple factors" without giving specific reasons, possibly delaying YMTC's NAND capacity expansion.

CCSH, the parent company of Chinese NAND flash maker YMTC, has halted its planned IPO on the Shanghai Stock Exchange's STAR Market, suspending a listing that had aimed to raise about $4.9 billion, according to an internal notice and sources cited by Reuters.

In the internal notice, CCSH told employees the process was postponed for "multiple factors" and did not disclose specific reasons for the decision.

CCSH filed for the listing in August 2026 with a target of roughly $4.9 billion and had planned to begin allocating shares to strategic investors between late October and early November 2026.

The suspension may delay YMTC's plans to expand its NAND production capacity, the report said.

A weaker market backdrop

China's CSI300 index fell 8.5% in October 2026, its largest monthly drop in about a decade, while the Shanghai STAR 50 index dropped about 40% from its July 2026 peak to the end of October 2026. China's CSRC has also given investment banks informal guidance to slow the pace of AI and semiconductor IPOs.

YMTC has been gaining ground in the NAND flash market, eroding the China market share of Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix.
