EA delays Battlefield 6 Platoons and B-81 Cavalry to 2027
The studio said both features fall short of internal quality standards, with a revised 2027 roadmap to follow after the holidays.
EA has confirmed that Battlefield 6's Platoons feature and the B-81 Cavalry will not ship in 2026 and have been pushed to 2027, according to kotaku.com. The studio announced the move in a status update posted on X.
In that update, the developers said both the B-81 Cavalry and Platoons are not ready for deployment because they do not meet internal quality standards. More details on a revised 2027 roadmap will be shared after the holidays.
The developers added that they remain committed to delivering high-quality experiences for players.
Platoons first appeared in Battlefield 3 as MMO-style clans that let players form communities and track members across larger groups. In April 2026, EA confirmed the feature would return in Battlefield 6 as part of its 2026 roadmap.
EA said earlier in 2026 that Platoons would arrive in Season 5, allowing players to create or join Platoons of up to 100 members, party up, use tags, manage membership with leadership tools and earn XP bonuses when playing together. The feature had been set to go live in early December alongside a server browser and new map updates, and as recently as October 21 EA was still reiterating that Platoons would arrive in Season 5.
