Crimson Herring Reveals First-Person Mech Repair Sim Bay 12

Bay 12: Mech Repair has players diagnose damaged mechs, weld and drill them back into shape, and salvage broken parts for scrap.

Crimson Herring Studios has announced Bay 12: Mech Repair, a first-person job simulation game about repairing large mechs. The studio has opened a Steam page for the project, according to Rock Paper Shotgun.

In Bay 12: Mech Repair, players diagnose damaged mechs using scans and pilot reports before carrying out repairs with a welder, drill and spanner. Parts that are too far gone can be salvaged for scrap, which can then be used to build custom components.

Credits earned on the job have to be divided between restocking inventory and buying new tools, so players will be making upgrade decisions as they work. The game also lets players strip rust and apply new paint jobs to the mechs they service.

The mechs are piloted by characters including Lieutenant Iona Vale of the 3rd Recon Company.

From Sovereign Syndicate to a repair bay

Crimson Herring Studios previously developed Sovereign Syndicate, a project the studio made before Bay 12: Mech Repair. No release date or platforms beyond Steam have been announced for the new game.
