HeroQuest: Digital Edition heads to Steam in 2027

Nomad Games is adapting the Avalon Hill dungeon-crawler for PC, with a closed beta planned and a quest editor using mod.io.

Nomad Games is developing HeroQuest: Digital Edition, a PC adaptation of the Avalon Hill board game, and plans to release it on Steam in 2027, according to pcgamer.com. A closed beta playtest is set to open soon.

The digital version includes a solo mode in which the computer takes the role of the Evil Wizard. Online multiplayer supports up to four hero players, with a fifth player able to take the Zargon role.

The adaptation follows the American version of HeroQuest, so the villain Morcar does not appear. A quest editor lets players build their own maps and missions, and quests made by other players can be downloaded through mod.io integration.

Nomad Games has previously adapted board games including Talisman, Love Letter and Fury of Dracula. Avalon Hill, publisher of the HeroQuest board game, released a deluxe rerelease of the classic dungeon crawl.
