JokerD's team wins first level 60 in World of Warcraft Forever

A group of Undead characters and one Troll reached max level in Blizzard's new MMO, with the runner-up still at level 53.

A team led by streamer JokerD became the first to reach level 60 in World of Warcraft Forever, three days after the game's launch, according to IGN.com.

The group consisted entirely of Undead characters and one Troll. The team chose the Undead race because Blizzard changed the Cannibalize ability to help regenerate mana, reducing downtime between large pulls.

The second-place player not on JokerD's team, Ksuper Worldfirst, was still level 53 at the time of writing. The first raids — Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and Onyxia's Lair — open on December 9.

World of Warcraft Forever had a smooth launch largely free of major server problems. Blizzard said the game was running on more than 200TB of RAM.

In 2019, JokerD was the world's first level 60 when World of Warcraft Classic launched. In a past interview, WoW Forever principal game designer Kris Zierhut said Blizzard intends players to level multiple characters and that leveling is a major part of the game.
